One of the main responsibilities of the dentist is to also control the oral mucosa (lips, tongue, floor of the mouth, palate, cheeks) after a successful examination of the patient’s teeth. This allows suspicious lesions to be quickly detected and further diagnosed. Even small changes in the oral mucosa may be possible precancerous lesions.
